So, now that we’re comfortable, familiar with, and very much hyped for this year’s headliners: Method Man and Redman, Pendulum, and Kano, let’s take a closer look at the rest of the line up for NASS 2017 to help you work out where you’ll be spending your weekend.
Friday Main Stage is where the party really starts. Paving the way for Meth and Red is Peckham’s finest, Giggs. The South London rapper’s sound “forked away from grime’s roots in garage and 2-step to create a brutal response to US gangster rap.” Like plenty of grime’s big names, Giggs has made himself something from nothing; it’s up to you to come hear what he’s all about.
Before we get stuck into our night of heavy hip hop education, is a gent with an entirely different image. Lincoln Barrett, a fuzzy haired welshman, who might easily be mistaken for Richard Ayoade from behind, performing under stage name High Contrast. Never judge a book by it’s cover. This guy’s been putting out records since the early naughties and has gone from strength to strength in that time. High Contrast has become something of a drum n bass icon, headlining some of the biggest festivals the world over. And this year you’re getting him delivered right to your front door.
The final player we need to discuss on Friday’s line up is none other that Radio One DJ Charlie Sloth. A rapper himself, Sloth is best known for pioneering the Rap Show’s Fire In The Booth, which has seem some of the biggest names in grime throw down their hottest freestyle bars. Charlie Sloth is a 100% sure fire way to start off your NASS weekend with some seriously decent vibes.
